http://www.archive.org/details/gd1966-11-19.sbd.miller.94106.sbeok.flac16

Set 1

Cold Rain And Snow
Hi-Heel Sneakers
Pain In My Heart
Beat It On Down The Line
Cream Puff War
Same Thing
He Was A Friend Of Mine
Dancin' In The Street

Set 2

Smokestack Lightnin' ->
King Bee
Midnight Hour

What is it about '66 Dead? So bluesy, so raw and such great sound!! Every time I wander back to '66, i ask myself why did I wait so long to listen to this....again? This show is no exception Lightning quick versions of Cold Rain and Snow, BIODTL and CPW (did they come any other way?). Pain In My Heart and The Same Thing provide the first set blues. Funny thing about Pain In My Heart is that it is only listed as being played once and this is not the date that is provided (deadlists). And who doesn't love these early versions of Dancin' In the Streets. Only problem with this one is that it cuts off while Jerry is shredding it like my new puppy shreds my wife's underwear when he has access to the laundry basket. (Hmm, perhaps I should leave the colorful descriptors for the professionals).

The second set is Pig time. Blues>Blues and then Midnight Hour which is quicker than others I have listened to however Pig still gets to strut his stuff as the frontman.

(sorry for the bump, re-reading this i was appalled by my typing.)

I was just listening to this and headed over here to post my enthusiasm. Wild stuff! I had never listened to Cream Puff War before.

deadlists.com only lists 7-16-66 for Pain In My Heart (another great show!). Did you find anything out about the song and the version you have in your earlier query?

I have certainly never heard Dancing in the Street this way before!

Do you eventually get past wanting to ask, "My God, do other people know about this?!"

Nope and the torture of it is that there is little you can do to convince them what you hear is soooo special. It seems to be some sort of enlightenment that we must all find on our own.

Go to 3-18-67 for Dancin' It is my personal favorite, like the one you just listened to but complete.

I have got to stop letting my work distract me, my typing today has been terrible.

There you go--pretty soon not only will you be quoting songs in posts without thinking about it, but you may catch yourself babbling on about Star Trek like SDH!

BTW, I don't mind being cast as Bones, but the Riddle reference was outta line! That elbow is a sneaky little guy. But generally helpful.

And, once in a while he gets it right with the early era!

Good show, L!

I was really referring to what i might be like to have the thoughts of Rob, SDH and Dire in your head. Sort of like what happened when The Riddler took in the brainwaves from Batman. I don't really think that you wander about wearing a green mask and a costume with lots of question marks on it. Then again you did run around this place with a torch and your ties around your head when they shut the lights off......

Ah--I thought we were on again about "who do you picture when reading the posts of so and so?"...I still like the one you or jgl said about me looking like a guy with a tie as a head band with a torn shirt in the sewer holding a burning torch during the Great Forum Blackout way back when...

Uh...jeeezzzz, L, talk about reading a post and ignoring it! I see now you ref'd that ONE in the above post, but all I read was the "?" comment!

Brain fart moment...anyhow, yeah--I always appreciated that picture; beats the ones others have posted about me being in tights and frolicking around in the Dark Ages like a New Age Robin Hood...skipping lightly and such.

true but that cloth, or whatever it is, does not go very low on the leg. As if there is little to hide. Perhaps not a giant in all respects.
